Our Bedoin tent is based on the tents used in Africa and the Middle East by indigenous people who needed adequate shelter from the unrelenting elements of the desert. We adapted our design from one originally created by another Burning Man camp, Blazin Raisins. The canopy of the tent is made from used, wool army blankets. These blankets do an amazing job in repelling the sun, creating a cool environment underneath. Because of the semi-open design, breezes are able to flow through the structure, creating even more cooling. This is an ideal structure for our community living space in the ever changing environment of Black Rock City.
